How it works
Listening that never sleeps, and never pretends.
Every part of AskCatch can be explained in plain words. If a part could not be explained honestly, it would not be in the product.
The listening, source by source
We read Reddit's public feeds directly, around the clock — posts and comments. No login, nothing of yours is open or at risk.
Bluesky
We search Bluesky's public posts through its open door. No login.
Hacker News
We read new Hacker News posts and comments as they land. A quiet room — a handful of catches a day is normal.
YouTube
We search YouTube videos for your phrases and read the comments under the matches. Videos with comments turned off are skipped, never forced.
Your phrases decide what gets read. The listening runs on our servers: it does not ride inside your browser, it does not use your accounts, and it does not stop when your laptop closes.
What it cannot hear — said before you ask
Facebook groups — not watched, on purpose
Facebook groups sit behind a login. The tools that say they watch them are reading through your own open browser, with your own account: they stop when your laptop closes, and reading that way breaks Facebook's rules, so the account at risk is yours. We only listen where listening is allowed and runs around the clock — and the same buying questions are asked in the open, on Reddit above all, where we do hear them.
Web search — not connected yet
The big search door we planned to use closed to new tools, so this net is off until we wire an honest replacement. We would rather show it off than pretend it is on.
The judging
Two nets catch a post: your exact phrases, and the shapes of real questions — “how do I…”, “can anyone recommend…”, “what do you use for…”. Then a catch earns your business's name only when the person's own words prove the fit: the phrase in full, or its distinctive words standing in the post. Anything less is kept as a demand signal — a real question in your market that no product of yours honestly answers yet. Every catch is kept forever and stays searchable. Nothing is deleted after a month.
What it will never do: write for you
AskCatch has no drafts and no suggested replies — on purpose. It brings you the person, the question, and the moment; the words you answer with are yours.
A tool's drafted replies, pasted by a thousand strangers, become one voice in a thousand places — the same sentences, the same shape, under a thousand names. That sameness is exactly what communities learn to smell, and it is how accounts get flagged. Your words stay yours because only you can sound like you.
Answering well is still a craft, and the honest order is simple: answer the question first, fully, with what you actually know — help before names. If your answer is good, people ask who you are, and then your name is an answer instead of an advertisement. Our guides carry more of this, written for the person doing the answering: you.
Your part: the answering
AskCatch never posts, comments, or messages — the code has no such machinery. And it never writes for you either. You read the catch, open the post, and answer as yourself. That is the whole job, and it is also what keeps your accounts safe: a person answered, because a person did.
